How Does Bartering Work?
Every business provides some of their goods or services in exchange for barter dollars. Businesses use those barter dollars to buy the things they need from others in the barter group. This allows everyone to get the things they need without spending cash.
Example
Web designer pays Florist 200 barter dollars for flowers.
Florist pays Accountant 140 barter dollars for accounting services.
Florist also pays Printer 60 barter dollars for business cards.
Accountant pays Restaurant 40 barter dollars for a meal.
Two months later, Account pays 100 barter dollars to Plumber.
Plumber pays $100 barter dollars to Clothier for uniform shirts.
No one owes anyone any favors or anything else. Everyone pays their debts to other members with barter dollars. We all want barter dollars because they give us the freedom to buy the goods and services we want … and save our cash!
